My Testimony
My first memory of church was riding the church bus with my sisters around the age of 5.  I attended as often as I could, and at the age of 12, I became a Christian at a summer camp.  God has been so faithful to me through the years.  I came to FBC Burkburnett in June of 2005 after serving as Minister of Education at Sandy Plains Baptist Church in Marietta, Georgia.  I graduated from high school in Paris, Texas in 1992 and LeTourneau University with a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics in 1996. I earned a Masters of Arts in Christian Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2000. My favorite Bible passage is Romans 8:38-39.

About Me
I was born and raised in Hobbs, New Mexico, graduating high school in 1981. I went on to Texas Tech, graduating in 1985 with a degree in chemical engineering. I met my wife Andrea, a Fort Worth native, at Tech, and we married in 1986. We lived in Longview, Texas for 16 years, where I worked as a chemical engineer and served as a layman in many different roles in church. In 2000, while serving as interim music minister at Oakland Heights Baptist Church, I began to sense that God was calling me to make a change in my life and go into full-time music ministry. From Longview, God led me to First Baptist Church in Van Alstyne, Texas, where I was the minister of music for five years. While in Van Alstyne, I was able to complete a masters degree in Christian education at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2006. Andrea and I have three terrific children: Leah, who is a senior at Ouachita Baptist University; Meredith, a freshman at the University of Mary Hardin Baylor, and Phillip, who is a junior at Burkburnett HS. Andrea is a school teacher who is teaching part-time in the schools. My hobbies and interests include sports, reading, and working with students.

My Testimony
I was blessed to have been raised in a Christian home. I attended church with my parents and sister just about every Sunday and Wednesday. At the age of eleven, I realized that Christianity was much more than attending church. I realized that I needed forgiveness for my sins, and that I needed to commit my life to Christ. I prayed by myself in my bedroom, and asked Jesus to come into my life. I am grateful for my family’s influence to lead me to Christ and to honor Him with my life.

My Testimony
I was a 10-year-old when I knew Christ was calling me, so I went down front in our small Baptist church.  I've always been led to serve and work with people.  After raising children, I felt like I worked well with preschool age children, and later elementary age.  I love their genuine actions and words - not to mention their smiles.  The Lord has blessed me in so many ways as I strive to be obedient.

I attended high school in Peru, Indiana and graduated in 1979.  I earned an Associates Degree in Applied Science, Child Development from Vernon College.  I also hold certifications for Child Care Worker, Child Development, and Child Care Administration.  I have held this position since 2003 and am currently the Director of First Baptist Church Little Hands Weekday Preschool and also teach the three and four year old class.  I have been with Little Hands Preschool since 1993.
